Another name for this holiday is ‘first loaf.’ For those of you who know a farmer or maybe you have your own garden, you know it is the beginning of the harvest season. We show our appreciate for what we are storing up for winter by commemorating the first loaf.
As the story goes, the sun god sacrifices himself (this time of year the days are getting shorter) so that we may live, by eating the the food he has given.
Today take some time to appreciate the dreams and goals you began (planted) earlier this year and enjoy the fruit of your labor.
